Six-Hour Packages
1- Explorer (lunch in the forest)
This excursion takes you on a six-hour trek through natural forests filled with a wide variety of different fauna and flora. Along
the way, the guide shows you how to call different mammals, such as beavers and you get to feed a few small wild animals. You also
learn to light a fire in any season, come rain or shine. The knowledge our guides share with you makes you aware of the importance
of maintaining the balance of such an ecosystem and shows you how to do it. They also teach you of the culinary and therapeutic
properties of the fauna and flora of our forests.
This excursion includes a stop in a genuine coureur de bois log camp and a typically Canadian meal.
2- Bill Wabo (bison sanctuary & tepee)
Besides discovering the wonderful world of the coureurs de bois, you have the privilege of visiting the first Athabascan Bison Sanctuary
in Québec. This reserve was set up in order to protect this wonderful endangered species. The man who imports the bison, quite a colourful
character, is very passionate about these legendary beasts and gladly shares the captivating story of these fascinating giants, while you
watch them at mealtime.
Up on Bison hill a breathtaking view of the valley awaits you. You will be taken back in time as you visit a Naskapi, an authentic reindeer
skin winter tepee. This comfortable tent-like shelter belongs to the Kawawachikamach native community, located on the border of Québec and
Labrador. Inside you get to taste pemmican, which is sweetened, smoked and dried bison meat, as you warm up.
3- Fishing Pond (trout fishing)
After trekking through the abundant richness of the forest our friends the coureurs de bois take you to the heart of the Havre des
sources (Haven of Sources) Valley where a fishing pro teaches you all you need to know about this fascinating sport. You will be

of this enlightening experience, you will get to bring your catch of the day back home to enjoy.

The coureurs des bois of yesteryears had tremendous knowledge of the resources nature had to offer. Fishing was an important food
source for them. That is why this excursion takes you to the heart of the Havre des sources (Haven of Sources) Valley for an
introduction to fishing with a fishing pro who teaches you all you need to know about this fascinating sport. You will be fishing
pure water bred rainbow and speckled (or brook) trout. All fishing equipment and baits are provided. Later, your catch becomes the
main course of a meal which also includes a starter and a regional dessert, coffee and tea. If you prefer, the fish can be replaced
